BiographyEdit

Early lifeEdit

Childhood and first yearEdit

Peter Pettigrew was born in 1960 to Enid Pettigrew, someplace in England.

Pettigrew began attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in 1971, where he was sorted into Gryffindor House[5]. Initially, the rest of the students ignored him except for Remus Lupin, a kind and considerate fellow Gryffindor, and Remus in turn persuaded James Potter and Sirius Black to befriend Peter as well[6].

Second yearEdit

It was in their seventh year that James, Sirius and Peter became curious as to where Remus disappeared each month, and it was James and Sirius who realised that Remus was a werewolf[7]. The three friends gave Remus the affectionate nickname 'Moony', which would follow him throughout his school career, and began the long and difficult process of becoming unregistered Animagi[6].

Physical appearanceEdit

Pettigrew was a very short man, standing at a lesser height than a thirteen-year old[2]. In childhood he was rather plump, but throughout the first war he lost a great deal of weight in a short period of time[2]. He had unkempt, colourless hair and a bald spot[2]; in his youth his hair was mousy brown[1].

Magical abilities and skillsEdit

Despite others thinking that he lacked magical ability (even his teachers, who were rather harsh on him, Professor McGonagall included), Pettigrew was a fairly advanced, reasonably talented wizard[5].
