There were accusations in March that the Polish Seeker Bonawentura Wójcik was actually a Transfigured Italian Seeker Luciano Volpi[2]. Brazilian manager José Barboza called the Welsh Chasers 'talentless hags' and Gwenog Jones, the Welsh captain, threatened to 'curse the face off' of him[2]. There were rumours early on that Haiti had employed Inferi as team mascots in order to intimidate opposing teams[2] and although they were dismissed as being 'malicious and baseless' by the ICWQC[2], they eventually proved true when the Haitians unleashed the Inferi during the opening ceremonies and the corpses began mauling everyone within reach[1].
